The things I saw (Liverpool) #3

August 22, 2016 by Phil Kneen Photography

More visual meanderings from a recent trip to Liverpool with my good chum and fellow analogue photographer, Ed Riley. I gave another good friend a 35mm film camera the other day to have a play with – Hannah, a very keen photographer, has only ever made images using her iPhone, but has been interested in using film for a while now. There were a lot of questions asked about the technical side of analogue photography, but I told Hannah that […]

Grande-Synthe

January 9, 2016 by Phil Kneen Photography

Grande-Synthe is being dubbed ‘The forgotten camp’ – I wasn’t prepared for what I saw there, not even remotely prepared…. The camp wasn’t where I’d expected it to be – we drove around the Dunkirk port area and scoured the outskirts of town before finally admitting defeat. The things I saw #3

October 26, 2015 by Phil Kneen Photography

More random visual meanderings and scribbles with the pen and the camera. All images made using an Olympus MjuII 35mm compact and Kodak Portra 160 film. Film was developed and scanned at UK Film Lab. Oh, a tip for anyone driving and using the French toll roads – they don’t accept MasterCard Prepaid… ‘Saturday 17th October, somewhere between Andorra and Chamonix – I’m covered in bites – all over my legs, arms and back. I’d assumed they were mosquito bites from […]
