If variety is indeed the spice of life, then my working week has been like a delicious Vindaloo curry. I’ve been working as stills photographer on a production being shot on the Isle of Man, ‘Muck’, which is being directed by Sonya Quayle. It’s been a lot of fun, although I have experienced everything from cold and wet to borderline heat stroke! I also spent the day shooting promotional material for musician, Davy Knowles. I’ve worked with Davy a few […]
When I’m not taking photos or causing trouble in the pub, I love to kayak. We’ve had some amazing weather here on the Isle of Man, so I took my camera out with me last night on a paddle down the coast from my home town of Peel. We had hoped to see Basking Shark and Minke Whale that had been spotted earlier in the day, however, all we saw were the usual seals…First World problems! I couldn’t find the […]
Juan McGuinness & Orca – my favourite image of 2013. Below are my runner-up favourites. All made using film and digital, 35mm and medium format, compacts and iPhones. Thank you to every single person who has helped me out over the past year, both in front of and behind the camera. Happy Christmas!

Manx music legend, Davy Knowles, is back on the Isle of Man and I had the pleasure of spending the day with him, shooting portraits around various locations. Davy, who now lives and works out of Chicago, is back on home soil to perform a gig at The Gaiety Theatre in Douglas. (Try and get tickets, but I think they sold-out pretty fast!) I’ve photographed Davy a few times over the last few years, the first time was at the […]

At the end of October 2010 I went to Amsterdam to photograph Davy Knowles playing in front of 6,000 people in the Heineken Arena. It was a very difficult time for me as my brother had died two weeks before and I was leaving Holland 48 hours after the gig to attend his funeral in Birmingham. The day after the gig, me, Davy and the tour manager, Lenny, travelled by train to The Hague to stay with Lenny’s sister and family. […]
