About

There’s a lot of shit talked about photography, but you go out, take a photo of something you like, if you enjoy that image then it’s a good photo. It’s really that simple.

  9. Hi there Phil! Fab blog filled to the brim with interesting captures. Enjoying my toddle around your space. And this statement:

“There’s a lot of shit talked about photography, but you go out, take a photo of something you like, if you enjoy that image then it’s a good photo. It’s really that simple. ”

I say you nailed it! Amen to that! Thanks for the follow too.

  10. Thank you for the follow! I’ve been writing poetry all my life. I just write what is going on in my head, my heart and try not to be a pretentious ass about it. I hope you will visit often and feel welcomed. I like so many of the images on your blog and glad you just simply take the image you like.

That dumpster photo is wonderful. Reminds of the French artist Gustave Courbet, who got in trouble with the critics when he went against the tradition of his time of painting angels and such. He said “Show me an angel and I’ll paint it.” I like reality and I applaud your approach. Thanks, by the way, for visiting AHintOfLight.com

  12. Phil, wow, what talent you have! And I love your “no nonsense” approach to it, as well. (“…go out, take a photo of something you like, if you enjoy that image then it’s a good photo. It’s really that simple.” Yes!) 🙂 I am honored that you chose to follow one of my blogs (http://smilekiddo.wordpress.com) – thank you so much!

  13. You have a lovely blog. Your style of photography (and writing) is slightly dark, alternative, yet appealing. Keep up the good work! Nice to see you haven’t forgotten about film.. The excitement of developing film and not forgetting what you have captured..

    Kind regards,

  16. Hi Phil,

Thanks so much for the blog follow. It led me to your blog, which I am now following. I am especially interested in your photographs since I am one of those people whose pictures always end up of the ground or the sky – anything but what I was supposed to be taking a picture of.

I look forward to seeing more of your images. Happy blogging!

  18. Hi, I’m planning on writing some inspiration posts about photography on my blog. I have been following your blog for a while, and I’m wondering if I could use some of your pictures in the first inspiration-post? I’ll of course link back to your page, like I do with the others photographers.

I am an aspiring photographer myself, and I love the power of photography and the possibilities it gives.
