Seal of approval

Yep, that’s the best I could come up with, sorry. ‘Sealed with a kiss’ was an option, but that would give the impression that I actually kissed the seal pup, which I did not. I did however stroke it on the head, it came that close to me. When I posted some of these images on social media a few people commented that I shouldn’t have stroked the seal because “They aren’t pets, they’re wild animals”. No shit, David Attenborough… for anyone who’s wondering, seal pups feel exactly how you’d imagine they would.

All images were made using a Nikonos V with 20mm UW lens, loaded with Kodak Ultramax 400 film.

Phil, approaching and attempting these wild animals is extremely irresponsible – seals can and do bite and are especially dangerous when defending their pups. To get this close is just foolish. You’re also disturbing the animals in their natural habitat, their home.

    STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!
