I’ve been in Tokyo for the last two weeks, which is why my blog has been quiet. I shot a lot of film while I was there, mostly on my little Olympus MjuII compact – I did take my Nikon F100 and a couple of lenses, and a Fuji X100T digital compact, but after a couple of days hauling even a relatively small bag around I admitted defeat and left the hotel every morning with just the compact and my iPhone 6s. My first port of call on the day we arrived was Yodobashi Camera store in the Shinjuku district of the city – the area dedicated to all things celluloid is bigger than most camera shops in the UK, so I was in heaven.
All the images here were made using my iPhone 6s and VSCOcam. As soon as I get the films back I’ll post a series of ‘The things I saw’ articles… now I shall wash my clothes, pack my camper van and prepare for a 6000 mile road-trip on Monday.
