Quite a few people have asked me what gear I’m taking to Canada for the ‘Life on The ‘Knife’s edge’ project – well here it is.
Mamiya 645 Pro TL with 80mm and 55mm
Mamiya 7II with 80mm
Canon EOS 5D mk2 with 24-105L (mainly for shooting video)
I also have a Fuji Instax instant camera and a Holga GCFN. There is 25 rolls of film here plus 100 sheets of instant film. I have another 130 rolls of film waiting in Yellowknife. I also have a new Toyo 4×5 inch folding field camera, if I can source film in Calgary in time, I’ll be taking that too. I’ve managed to fit most of the camera gear I need into one Lowepro Vertex 100 AW backpack.
Good gear!

Hi Phil,
I’ve recently bought a Mamiya 645 to complement my Fuji X100, Holgas and Fuji Instax! Another convert 🙂 Anyway I was wondering what sort of slide films you might recommend? Do they have much of an advantage over Fuji PRO 400 120 for example? Some guy in a camera shop in Austin TX was raving about slide film but can’t really remember why. Any suggestions?
Thanks again,
R.S.
